Our Worth

Outer circumstances do not belong on our inner altar of worthiness. And yet, we place them there all the time. Do you have the tendency to base your worthiness on how much money you bring in? Your possessions? How much praise or validation you receive? How productive you are?

The pattern must be broken in order for us to start cultivating a more enriching and loving relationship with ourselves. Worthiness is not relative. Our gifts and talents are so unique to us that they cannot be compared with someone else’s. Worthiness is also not in flux. It is a constant because of our inherent nature as expressions of the Infinite, as creations of God. We do not question the worthiness of a flower or a tree. They do not have to strain or question themselves to accomplish their purpose. They simply are. They are connected with the Earth and the flow of life, enabling them to naturally and organically provide beauty and oxygen to the world.

We have what it takes to embody our worthiness in the same way without waiting for any confirmation or permission from the outside world. The only thing holding us back is our own fears. What arises from this shift is action that springs from a relaxed state. Instead of constantly pushing and pressuring ourselves to feel worthy, which implies we are coming from a place of lack (that we aren’t worthy, therefore we have to TRY to be that), we simply shift the paradigm and come from worthiness to begin with. It is a subtle yet profound difference. The former is like swimming against the current while the latter is like floating on an inner tube with the flow. It feels light and effervescent.

Using inner confidence and trust as the foundation of all that we do will spark motivation, inspiration, and ultimately, success. It won’t be because we need these things in order to feel good about ourselves, but because they are the natural flowering of who we already are.
